Daniel’s professional career began working in private practice clinics, a private hospital and within premier league and state hockey in Victoria. He was also the tournament physiotherapist for the 34th International Men’s Hockey Champions Trophy in 2012 held in Melbourne. He spent several years with the Northern Blues Football Club (Carlton’s VFL affiliate side) in Australian Rules Football (AFL) before moving to Perth, Western Australia. Daniel has been the Head Physiotherapist at the Claremont Football Club (WAFL) with exemplary injury statistics over a four-year period. His postgraduate studies provided a unique opportunity to go to the US to experience an elite high performance program in basketball with the NBA’s most successful team over the past decade. This along with time in the NBL with multiple teams as part of a Masters Degree, lead to the Sports Physiotherapy role with the back-to-back reigning champion Perth Wildcats as part of their innovative high performance program.
Daniel enjoys the challenges of both diagnosis and treatment and has a strong clinical interest in post-operative rehabilitation, occupational and sports physiotherapy. He is particularly interested in soft tissue injury, tendinopathy, shoulder rehabilitation and complex hip, groin, back and ankle conditions. He has also completed Level I & II ASADA Anti-Doping Courses.
Throughout his career Daniel has supervised numerous physiotherapy students, presented at Medical and Allied Health events including at the 2018 Sports Medicine Australia conference, published multiple papers, and continues to strive for excellence and improvement in his own practice and day-to-day life.
