Are you a new graduate physiotherapist starting a career in private practice, sports, musculoskeletal or orthopaedic physiotherapy? Are you looking for more support, mentorship, coaching or help in managing your patients?
Perhaps you work remotely and don’t have the assistance or supervision that you may want to progress your knowledge and career. Let us help you.
Throughout his career Daniel has supervised numerous physiotherapy, kinesiology and athletic training students from multiple universities both here in Australia and overseas. He has previously created and successfully implemented a 3-day introduction to private practice physiotherapy course and continues to give back to the physiotherapy and sports medicine community at every available opportunity. He has presented at the 2018 Sports Medicine Australia (SMA) Conference on the topic of load management and various other courses and functions for physiotherapists, sports trainers, GP’s and orthopaedic surgeons.
Undergraduate University studies provide an immense amount of information and skill in an attempt to prepare us for work in the real world. It is here where we can focus our interests and understanding of anatomy, pathology and human movement to the patients we see and treat each day. With so much information and energy people can feel overwhelmed, need some guidance, and when appropriate even be challenged further to provide the best care for their patients.
Mentorship is vital in every industry, especially where people’s health and wellbeing is on the line. At Clinic 1 Physiotherapy we provide a friendly and approachable mentorship program assisting with clinical reasoning for your cases, discussing differential diagnoses, assessment strategies and treatment plans. We will work with you directly on common presentations to the more complex injuries, guided by your specific caseload.
Do you work in a gym, sports team or outdoor training environment? Wherever you are based, pain is ultimately a barrier to complete a planned training session with a client, impacting our ability to achieve the desired training effects. If you have a client with a significant medical or injury history, issues with pain, or that is having difficulty completing certain movements, we can help problem solve and keep them training and working towards their fitness goals. Often there are simple cues and adjustments to improve technique or to consider modifying with gym programming that will avoid a period of detraining.
With a history working in personal training whilst studying physiotherapy and working daily with strength and conditioning and sports science staff we have developed a unique skillset integrating each of these different areas within a high performance program. Multi-skilled health professionals can work together or independently with a common goal of client health and building performance. We can help you up skill, and provide a better service for your clients and athletes with the goal of collaboration between the different professions rather than competition, particularly in the private sector.
If you are interested in our mentorship program please contact us here and we’d be excited to be a part of your health professional journey.
